Is there a cheap solution to control NX8V2 remotely (cell phone, Internet – activating alarm, reporting events – mail, phone)? I am interested in cheap solutions for home use. I do not what to go through thirdparties that would charge me monthly fees.
What I have found:
1) NX584E – connects to PC via RS232
- does not get you on the Internet
- Home Seer makes software that has plugin that connects with NetworX device but is not cheap
2) NX91E-GSM
- you have to register for this module online (and they may charge you fees) – it is not clear to me if it is at alarm.com or gesecurity/GSM that does not exist anymore or I can use only my phone
3) NX590-NE
- it is not clear to me what Osborne-Hoffman Network Receiver is (is a software that I have to purchase?)
- it plugs the module to Ethernet without PC, but I do not get have event are reported
4) Software developed for RS232 module – I saw a few posts that people were programing RS232 for NX584E but did not see any download or anything finished
